Neil P. Johnston

Director

Neil has over 45 years of experience as a teacher and school leader and worked in Hong Kong for over 10 years after a successful career in Toronto where he established the first school for the arts and the first program for gifted athletes in Canada. During his last five years in Canada, Neil was a senior staff member of one of the largest and most progressive school boards where he managed the Quality Assurance portfolio and coordinated and directed annual school and program reviews.

Neil was the the Principal of the Canadian International School of Hong Kong (“CDNIS”) from 1993 to 2000 and guided the school through a vital period of rapid growth and expansion. Under his leadership, CDNIS developed into as one of the most reputable schools in Hong Kong where student achievement and welfare were highly valued. In September, 2002, Neil was involved in the start-up of The International School of Macao. He continues to act as a director of the school and was involved in the development of its new campus addition that will raise campus capacity up to 1700 students.
